Beyond Graduation at Greenwich Library

On Tuesday, April 9th, the Greenwich Library teamed up with Greenwich High School’s College and Career Center to host a “Beyond Graduation” event aimed at graduating high schoolers and their families. Held on the first floor of the Library in the Peterson Business Area, the event offered a roadmap for recent graduates as they navigate their next steps.

Many students face a whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty as they approach graduation. “Beyond Graduation” aimed to alleviate those anxieties by showcasing a diverse range of career and post-secondary education options. Attendees had the chance to meet representatives from a wide spectrum of industries, including law enforcement, healthcare, culinary arts, and various skilled trades.

Representatives from the Connecticut Army National Guard were present to discuss military service as a potential path. Additionally, Gap Year Solutions offered guidance for graduates interested in taking a structured break before pursuing further education or entering the workforce.

Additional Information About Beyond Graduation at Greenwich Library

Attendees at Beyond Graduation were able to delve deeper into specific fields. Representatives from institutions like Connecticut State Community College, Davis & Henley College of Nursing, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield University Bellarmine, and many more were on hand to answer questions and provide detailed information about their programs.

Local organizations like the Greenwich Fire and Police Departments, HTX Helicopters, and the IYRS School of Technology and Trades showcased specialized career paths. Even vocational training opportunities were represented by Job Corps, Porter and Chester Institute, and Norwalk Community College’s Non-Credit Programs.

The “Beyond Graduation” event offered a valuable resource for graduating students and their families in Greenwich. By connecting attendees with a variety of educational institutions, military branches, and industry representatives, the event empowered recent graduates to make informed decisions about their futures.
