Whitby Montessori Children’s House: 18 Months-Kindergarten
Our WMCH program is dedicated to educating our youngest learners under the guiding motto: “Follow the Child.” In well-ordered, developmentally appropriate classrooms, under the guidance of expertly trained and caring teachers, a child’s own love of exploration allows them to take the lead in their learning.
This approach is rooted in a rich history. WMCH is one of the few schools in the Westchester-Fairfield area fully accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS). Our founder, Dr. Nancy Rambusch, also founded the AMS, modeling the ideal Montessori classroom after the very program we continue today.
Current research confirms that the first years of life are the most critical for brain development. During this window, children possess a unique capacity for learning, especially in language and socialization. Students at Whitby learn to approach new challenges with confidence. Respected as individuals, they are empowered as readers, writers, and critical thinkers to become creative, passionate, and joyful learners. Through specialized classroom zones, including Math, Language, Culture, and Science, our students learn to think for themselves, ready to begin their lifelong journey of discovery.
Camp Whitby
Camp Whitby Wildcats: Day Camp
(Ages 4 – Grade 4, entering Fall 2026)
Camp Whitby Wildcats combines exploration, learning, and fun into an extraordinary summer experience. Our 7-week day camp is intentionally designed with age-appropriate adventures that spark curiosity and joy. Led by a team of expert instructors and familiar faces from Whitby’s after-school programs, we go beyond the ordinary to ensure every week is a new experience. Campers immerse themselves in a diverse array of activities including STEM challenges, art, sports, music, and dance, alongside weekly surprises, themed dress-up days, and live shows by professional entertainers.
Our beautiful 32-acre Greenwich campus serves as the ultimate summer playground. Campers take full advantage of our elite amenities, including two modern playgrounds, expansive playing fields, tennis courts, and our Audubon-certified Schoolyard Habitat. Whether digging into nature in our community garden classroom, challenging themselves on the Athletic Center climbing wall, or innovating in the Makerspace and art studios, students find a space to shine. Join us for a summer filled with laughter and discovery where the adventure never ends!
Middle School Musical Theatre Workshops
(Grades 5–8, entering Fall 2026)
The Musical Theatre Workshop is the perfect program for students looking to experience the thrill of the stage or hone their professional acting, dancing, and singing skills. This comprehensive curriculum, led by experienced theatre and dance professionals, focuses on vocal technique, choreography, and acting exercises in our professional Performing Arts Center. Students develop a well-rounded understanding of the performing arts while building the confidence to shine in any production.
