Living Greenwich Best Greenwich CT Summer Camp Guide

Welcome to the 2024 Living Greenwich Summer Camps & Programs Guide – a trusted resource for Greenwich area parents seeking in-depth information on the best summer camps and programs available for their children.

The summer months are an important time in the lives of our children. The immersive outdoor environment of summer camps encourages children to step out of their comfort zones, fostering independence and resilience as they navigate new challenges and adventures. These experiences often become cherished memories, imbued with a sense of nostalgia that accompanies them into adulthood. Whether it’s roasting marshmallows around a campfire, conquering a high ropes course, or simply exploring nature trails, summer camps offer a blend of fun and learning that leaves a lasting impact on a child’s development.

Moreover, the structured yet relaxed atmosphere of summer camps allows children to explore their interests in a supportive and encouraging environment, fostering a sense of self-discovery and personal growth. Away from the distractions of screens and technology, campers engage in meaningful interactions and hands-on experiences that stimulate creativity and imagination.

This year’s edition of our guide is designed to introduce you to the most compelling summer camps and programs available to toddlers-through-teens who live in (and around) Greenwich. Included herein are places, providers, programs and summer experiences that are certain to change and enrich the lives of your children in exceedingly powerful ways.

Where to begin? The 2024 Edition of our Living Greenwich Summer Camps & Programs Guide shines the light on a diverse array of camp and program categories: Arts/Culture/Recreation, Educational/Academic, Multi-Discipline, Sports, Overnight Camps, and Traditional Day Camps. Since many of these programs offer a variety of activities and experiential opportunities to their attendees, we strongly suggest taking the time to read the full details for each camp to get an informed sense as to the experiences furnished by each provider.

Without further ado, here’s our 2024 selection of Summer Camps and Programs that will amuse, entertain, educate, and inspire your children while simultaneously generating new relationships, accomplishments, and smile-filled moments for them all along the way!

Armonk Tennis Summer Camp Living Greenwich 2024

Armonk Tennis Club offers three unique camps, each providing a fun and instructive experience.

Armonk International Tennis Academy is a tennis-focused program for players of all abilities ages 6-18. With Advanced and Junior camps, elite players take their game to the next level through intensive group drilling, private instruction, fitness training, and more, while beginners and casual players progress through skill-building games, situational play, and supervised matches.

At Camp Armonk Sports, kids entering grades K-7 take part in a variety of athletic activities. Soccer, tennis, basketball, and swimming are just some of the sports they’ll learn, practice, and compete in. They’ll also play games like capture the flag, gaga, and dodgeball.

Finally, Mad Science uses interactive activities to teach kids in grades K-5 both practical and amazing science lessons. Each week focuses on a different theme, allowing kids to fully explore and understand the scientific principles behind it. In the afternoons, campers can either join Camp Armonk Sports or enjoy art activities with a swim period. They can also choose a half-day option.

Beam Camp Sleepaway Summer Camp in Strafford New Hampshire NH

At Beam Camp, youth aged 9-17 and staff learn to make their ideas a reality. Through fine and manual arts, technology, and collaboration, Beam Campers cultivate hands-on skills while exploring innovative thinking, design, and the creative process.

We have a fully equipped woodshop, metal shop, fabrication lab, and an arts and craft barn ready for ceramics, sewing, painting and more. Campers spend a good portion of their day in those shops and making their own self-designed projects known as Independent Work projects. At both our two-week and four-week camp sessions, we also invite practicing artists to lead workshops that we call Domains, during which they share their artistic practices, trades, and hobbies with campers.

In addition to Independent Work and Domains, each session we build something that has never been built before. Campers and staff collaborate on our Big Project, which we commission through an annual international call for proposals. A team of Beam staff, former Campers, and community members chose a unique, large-scale project from the 91 ideas submitted this year by architects, artists, and big thinkers from all over the world. The Big Project is one of the few elements of camp in which every camper has a stake, and we share in the responsibility and the pride and joy of completing it each summer.
