Greenwich’s Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School (SMNS) is a place where learning is active, joyful, and intentional.

Our curriculum is designed to support each child’s academic, social, emotional, and physical development through meaningful experiences and trusted relationships.

Professional teachers thoughtfully guide children as they explore early literacy, math, science, and creative expression—through play, inquiry, and hands-on discovery. We offer unique indoor learning spaces such as a dedicated STEAM lab, animal discovery room, and gymnastics studio.

Kindergarten readiness is an important part of your child’s pre-school education at the Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School. Our team of educators take great pride in preparing children to succeed in their next chapter at public or private schools.

While guided by Jewish values, we welcome families of all faiths, ethnicities and backgrounds. Children at SMNS enjoy the wonderful richness of Shabbat, Jewish holidays and traditions through music, stories and creative activities. We often draw on the resources of Temple Sholom’s clergy and professional staff, and all of our families are encouraged to participate in the Temple’s interactive programming, such as our monthly Together Shabbat.

Give your child an unforgettable summer at the Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School!

Rising 2’s, 3’s, 4’s and Kindergarteners will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as water play, nature scavenger hunts, bubble shows, Olympic games and imaginative play on the multi-level playground. Indoor summer favorites include STEAM, music, art, gymnastics, interactive learning in the Animal Discovery Room, and Shabbat with Temple Sholom’s clergy. Each day’s activities are captured through photos and videos and shared with parents on the school’s Remini app.

Led by experienced and professional teachers and staff, summer sessions are offered as five, two-week sessions from June 9 through August 14 at Temple Sholom (300 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT) and follow the school’s emergent curriculum (based on the children’s interests).
