Greenwich Road Runners - Summer at the Point

It was an exhilarating way to start an absolutely perfect mid-summer weekend!

On Saturday, July 30, 2022, the Greenwich Road Runners hosted their “Summer at the Point 5k Race and 1 Mile Fun Run” at Tod’s Point.

“Flat and fast…” The level 5K course looped around Greenwich Point, partially on paved roads and partially on compacted trails all with spectacular, ever-present Long Island Sound views and refreshing breezes. It was an inspiring setting for a morning run!

Approximately 250 runners participated in this vibrant event at Greenwich Point Park which was sponsored by First County Bank, Costco, Elite Health Services, Whole Foods and the OG Social Club.

Event proceeds benefited the Greenwich Parks and Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund.

The Youth Scholarship Fund provides Greenwich youth access to an array of recreational programs including our summer day camps. Youth Scholarships provide income-eligible families exposure to positive experiences and active lifestyles, as well as opportunities to gain and refine life skills and to develop positive personal and social assets.

The fund is completely supported through donations from local businesses, community service organizations, corporations, and individuals. 100% of the donations to this fund go directly to support scholarships for Greenwich’s youth. LEARN MORE…
